DDGM Lanier has continuously shown her love for the communities and Prince Hall Masonry. She has worked closely with German services to bring Christmas to needy families in the Mannheim, Kaiserslautern, and Landstuhl communities. DDGM Lanier has visited with the elderly and assisted her sister organizations in delivering gift baskets when needed. DDGM Lanier’s input and participation with Guiding Star Chapter #69 Annual Black History Program helped make it a high-quality show. DDGM Lanier helped orchestrate Easter Egg hunts and Haunted Houses during Halloween for the Baumholder community with Oklahoma and Washington Jurisdictions. During her free time, DDGM Lanier visits Wounded Warriors and assists children in donating clothing to needy families.
DDGM Lanier is a member of the Heroines of the Templar’s Crusade, Heroines of Jericho, Order of the Golden Circle, and Daughters of Isis.
District Deputy Grand Matron Tanja J. Lanier became an Eastern Star in Victoria R. Swanson Chapter #112 in Mannheim, Germany, in January 2000. After initiation, DDGM Lanier worked diligently with chapter members to create a chapter study club for newly initiated members. She expanded her fraternal ties by receiving the Queen of the South degree in October 2000 and the Amaranth in 2001. DDGM Lanier was elected Worthy Matron from December 2006 – 2007.
DDGM Lanier switched to Maryland Jurisdiction in 2009 and continue to work with Starlette Chapter #63 in Kaiserslautern, Germany. DDGM Lanier was elected as the Worthy Matron from 2010 to 2011. With her expanding knowledge of administrative tasks, she formed a chapter study club in Kaiserslautern. DDGM Lanier was elected as Worthy Matron in 2012 and served as the District Deputy Grand Associate Matron. DDGM Lanier has served as the District Deputy Grand Matron for Western Europe since 2016. DDGM Lanier has a passion for teaching; by creating study guides or hosting regular study halls, she tries to pass on her knowledge to others. Since becoming the District Deputy Grand Matron, DDGM Lanier has worked tirelessly to rebuild District Eight in Germany and Italy. She has also created a District praise team and chapter study clubs.
