Most Worshipful Past Grand Master Eddie L. Harris

District Deputy Grand Master (DDGM) Eddie Lee Harris was born July 1953 in Columbus, Mississippi to Annie, and Mitchell Harris, the third of ten children. The family relocated to West Point, Mississippi, where he completed high school. After graduating from high school, DDGM Harris enlisted in the military, where he served for more than 20 years, retiring as a First Sergeant. During DDGM Harris’s time in the military, his assignments included Louisiana, Georgia, and Kentucky, overseas in Jordan, Korea, and Germany. DDGM Harris received four Army Achievement Medals, Seven Good Conduct Medals, and Three Merit Service Medals during his career.
DDGM Harris continued to pursue his education through the University of Maryland, where he studied Law, and Texas Central College, he studied Automotive Repair and received a diploma in Motorcycle Repair. DDGM Harris completed his Basic Training, AIT, and Automotive Mechanic training at Fort Polk, LA. Later, he attended the Primary Leadership Course in Bad Tolz, Germany, Advance Leadership Course in Aberdeen, Maryland, and the First Sergeant Course in El Paso, Texas. DDGM Harris took the US army Instructor Course in Vilseck, Germany. DDGM Harris amassed over 250 hours of army correspondence courses in automotive maintenance and supply.
DDGM Eddie Harris was raised to a Master Mason in early 1975 in Samuel T. Daniels Lodge No. 109 in Mannheim, Germany. After learning the Masonic works, he advanced to the 32nd degree in Prince Hall Military Consistory No.304 in Frankfurt, Germany in 1976. DDGM Harris later joined the Aswan Temple 115 in 1976, and in 2006 he became a member of Roland Scott Commandery No.122 and Benjamin Brown Chapter No. 122. In 2010 DDGM Harris was nominated and received the 33rd degree of Grand Inspector General, coronated as Sovereign Grand Inspector General in 2016.
DDGM Harris served numerous seats and positions within Samuel T. Daniels Lodge No. 109. He serviced as Assistance District Deputy Grand Master for Samuel T. Daniels Lodge No.109, Assistance District Treasurer, Special District Deputy Grand Master for the 14th Masonic District, Director of the Lodges of Instruction for the 12th Masonic District, and Special District Deputy of the 12th Masonic District. In 2016 DDGM Harris was appointed District Deputy Grand Master of the 12th Masonic District Maryland.
On September 6, 2008, Grand Master Shelton D. Redden honored R.W. Eddie L. Harris for his work within the District and the Grand Lodge of Maryland by renaming Charles R. Williams Lodge No.132 to Eddie L. Harris Lodge No. 132 located in Baumholder, Germany.
DDGM Harris was employed in 1994 as the Responsible Officer for ITT, Mantech. and Vecrus, supervising supply operations supporting the United States Army in Europe until his retirement in 2018.
He is married to the former Gabriele Voggesser, and they are proud parents of a son, Micha, and a daughter Nora. DDGM Harris makes his home in Mutterstadt, Germany.
